Obituary: ​Cynthia Breitfeller, Of West Islip, Dies At 85

Died: April 7, 2018

Visitation: Wednesday, April 11 from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home on 1225 Montauk Highway in West Islip.

Service: Thursday, April 12 starting at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's R.C. Church on 9 North Clinton Avenue in Bay Shore.

Obituary: Cynthia Breitfeller (nee Carter), of West Islip, died after a brief illness on Saturday, April 7. She was 85.

Cynthia was born in Morristown New Jersey in 1933.

She attended Georgetown University. After marrying, she moved to Weisbaden Germany before moving to Long Island where she lived the remainder of her years.

Cynthia was predeceased by her husband paul Breitfeller and her son Kenneth Breitfeller.

She is survived by her children Mary-Jo Breitfeller, Carl (Karin) Breitfeller, James (Dee) Breitfeller, Kathryn (James) Mahlmann, Kurt (Laura) Breitfeller, Christen Breitfeller, and Stephen (Lynn) Breitfeller, her grandchildren Lisa, Jessica, Christopher, Paul, Kara, Rachel, Joshua, Rebecca, Stephern, Erika, John as well as her great-grandchildren Maja, Maddie.

In addition, she is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Guide Dog Foundation or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
