Julia began battling severe rheumatoid arthritis at just 19 months old. As a result, she had to undergo multiple surgeries throughout her life. She later suffered from heart failure.
"My mother was a very giving person, even though she was very physically ill," her son, Anthony Pascone said. "My mother was in chronic severe pain. It was something me and my mother unfortunately shared."

Julia's father died when she was 14 months old from Lupus. Both Julia and Anthony also suffered from the disease.
"...the similar severe chronic pain brought me and my mother closer," he said. "Given her health she would still give the shirt off her own back to anybody who would have given it. She gave her best to all her kids, grandkids and even her fellow coworkers, no matter what she had going on she'd drop it all to help whoever needed it."
In addition to her son, Julia is survived by her other children, Corinne Pascone, Jaimee Pascone, and Johnny Pascone. She is also survived by nieces and nephews as well as her grandchildren who affectionally called her "Nona."

"My mother had a very open bubbly personality and her smile could light up even the darkest of rooms," Anthony said. "She made people laugh and smile."
Following her death, Anthony started a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses for his mother.
