Obituary: Robert W. Herr, of West Islip, Dies at 81

Robert W. Herr, of Riverhead, formerly of West Islip, died on Thursday, Aug. 24. He was 81.

He was predeceased in life by his son, Robber Herr.

Robert was a proud retired member of the FDNY.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Herr as well as his children, Kerrie Sanchez, Laurie McArdle and Michael Herr.

In addition, he is survived by 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his sister, Clara Spoering.

Visitation took place on Sunday at the Fredrick J. Chapey and Sons West Islip Funeral Home.

A funeral service took place on Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in West Islip.

Interment took place at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
