Obituary: ​Terrence Scott O’Hara, of West Islip, Dies at 40

The NYPD 9/11 first responder passed away on Friday.

Terrence Scott O’Hara, of West Islip, passed away on Friday, March 10. He was 40.

Terrence was born on August 1, 1976 to parents Frank and Irene O’Hara.

He was an NYPD 9/11 first responder hero as well as a retired sergeant for the Queens Gang Squad.

In addition to his parents, Terrence is survived by his wife Denise as well as his children, Addison and Jackson.

In addition, he is survived by his siblings; Matthew and Katie; mother-in-law Diane Rutkowski as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation took place at the Massapequa Funeral Home South Chapel in Massapequa Park on Monday.

A funeral Mass was held Wednesday morning at the St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Massapequa.

Cremation will be private.

Donations can be made to the “FealGoodFoundation.com” in memory of 9/11 first responders.
