
UPDATE 8:30 p.m.: Suffolk Police have identified the person killed as 19-year-old Jaylen Kelly, of Islip Terrace. He was driving a 2002 Toyota Corolla. Idalecio Coelho, 47, of Farmingville, was the driver of a 2004 Ford F-150 and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where she is being treated for internal injuries.Kristin Kostik, 35, of Sayville, was the driver of a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She was treated and released from Good Sam.
WEST ISLIP, NY — One person was killed in a three-car crash on the Robert Moses Causeway bridge Thursday morning, according to New York State Police. The crash occurred at 6:40 a.m. on the southbound side of the causeway between Exit RM2E - Montauk Highway and Ocean Parkway; Captree State Park.
The West Islip Fire Department used cutting equipment to free another person trapped in a vehicle. It took 15 minutes and the individual was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. First responders evaluated other occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash for injuries.
