Robert Irvine, Ex-Chief Of West Islip Fire Department, Dies At 91
The longtime local resident and a member of the West Islip Fire Department for over 60 years passed away on Tuesday.

Died: March 20, 2018
Visitation: Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. and from 9:30 p.m. at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home on 1225 Montauk Highway in West Islip.
Fire Department Service: Tuesday, March 27 from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home.

Obituary: Robert T. Irvine, a long time West Islip resident and former chief of the West Islip Fire Department Vanguard Company died On Tuesday, March 20. He was 91.

Irvine was born the oldest of 5 children to Louva (Goodrich) and Robert Irvine in Brooklyn.
He was a valued member of the West Islip community and ex-chief of the West Islip Fire Department Vanguard Company serving his community for more than 60 years.
He is a retired employee of Grumman Bethpage and his job included wing production for the F14 Tomcat.
Irvine also proudly served his country as an Ensign in the United States Navy at the end of WWII.
He is survived by his son Robert Scott and his wife Lisa, his grandchildren Heather and Cody and his wife Jocelyn all of Virginia as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dot.
