School District Offers Post-Sandy Updates

With a decision regarding when West Islip schools will reopen following the week long closure due to Hurricane Sandy expected on Sunday, the school district has provided an update on several matters pertaining to students.

The SAT Exams scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, at the high school have been postponed. A tentative make-up is scheduled for Nov. 17 pending confirmation from the College Board.

Evening elementary parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5, have been postponed until further notice.

School lunch selections will be “Chef’s Choice” until further notice. A full November menu will be posted on the school district website when available.

Varsity sports playoffs, postponed from this past week, have been rescheduled for this coming week. A schedule for West Islip High School teams is available here.

Also, all middle school athletic contests and practices have been postponed until further notice.
