Police ID Woman Killed in West Islip Crash
Investigation into one-vehicle crash ongoing.
New York State Police have identified the female driver who died after her car veered off the Southern State Parkway Friday night in West Islip.
Lizette Land, 25, of Brentwood, was heading west on the parkway, according to a release Monday from state police, when her 2000 Acura left the road, west of Bay Shore Road, and hit several trees before overturning about 11:30 p.m. Land, the lone occupant, was declared dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Â
