Storm Wallops West Islip, Many Still Without Power: PHOTOS

A severe thunderstorm rumbled through Long Island Thursday night. Check out some photos of the damage in the article.

WEST ISLIP, NY - A severe storm slammed Long Island on Thursday, hitting areas like West Islip particularly hard.

The area was hit with a serious thunderstorm along with 60 mph winds, causing downed trees and power outages all across the island.

In West Islip, there are still 1,462 residents still without power as of Friday morning, according to the PSEG power outage map. Power is expected to be fully restored by Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
