Thanksgiving Thief: Burglar Broke Into West Islip Pet Shop

A cash register was stolen during the burglary reported on Thanksgiving last week.

WEST ISLIP, NY — A Thanksgiving thief broke into and stole a register from a West Islip exotic pet shop.

Suffolk police confirmed that last Thursday a man broke a window at BTJ’s Jungle on 144 Eastbound Sunrise Service Road at 1 a.m.

The burglar entered, stole cash and the register, police said. None of the animals inside the store were harmed.

Just a few weeks before the break-in, a couple stole two baby ball pythons from the store.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
