Another outstanding performance by pitcher Alyssa Monteverde, who breezed threw Centereach's lineup by striking out a total of 15 batters, while only giving up four hits in her 7 innings of shutout pitching.
Monteverde also helped her cause by hitting a two run triple in the fourth inning. Also in the fourth inning Sloane Greeley had an RBI single, Greeley also had another single in the game. Stevianne Ognibene also contributed with two RBI'S on a triple in the sixth inning.
The Lions never looked back after scoring one run on an RBI single by Jackie Survilla in the top of the first inning, Survilla also added another single later in the game, as the Lions pounded out a total of 12 hits. Other players getting one hit each were Gabby Cinquemani, Brianna Whitfield, Haley Westerberg, Shannon Cronin, Amanda Arena, and Jessica Cain.
