W. Islip BOE Approves Sale Of Masera Property, Schedules Hearings
The school district will be hosting three public hearings next month to allow residents to discuss the sale before it is finalized.

WEST ISLIP, NY — The West Islip Board of Education approved the purchase and sale of the Masera School property, and announced the dates for public hearings to discuss the sale, earlier this month.
The school district announced that officials reached an agreement with Terwilliger & Bartone Properties LLC for the 11-acre property located on Udall Road on Sept. 10. The property was originally home to Paumanok Elementary School, which opened in 1955 but closed down several years ago.
In order for the sale to be finalized, it will require approval from the community, so the district has scheduled several public forums to provide voters with the opportunity to discuss the Masera property sale.
