The West Islip School District was once again honored by the NAMM Foundation with Best Communities for Music Education recognition. As in prior years, the 2021 designation was awarded for outstanding achievement in providing music access and education for students.

Further highlighting the strength of the district’s music program, a record number of West Islip High School seniors will be pursuing degrees in music education, music performance and musical theater in college this fall, including Matthew Cammarano (Northwestern University), Eve Castonguay (SUNY Fredonia), Elizabeth Lundquist (Ohio University), Andrew Palmer (SUNY Fredonia), Sophia Randazzo (SUNY Potsdam), Jake Siffert (Boston Conservatory) and Karina Vartanian (Manhattan School of Music).
