West Islip Students Earn Medals In Virtual Science Olympiad

West Islip’s Beach Street and Udall Road middle schools found success participating in the virtual Science Olympiad in March. To prepare, students meet virtually for practices and with their teammates.

Beach Street students competed in all of 15 events and eared medals by placing in the top 10 for six of these events: Anatomy and Physiology, Circuit Lab, Crime Busters, Food Science, Heredity and Water Quality. Udall students competed in 11 events and were awarded medals for the Machines, Reach for the Stars and Water Quality events.
