WI Women Advance In NCAA Lacrosse Playoffs
Several former Lions have success at the Division I and Division II levels.

It was a busy weekend for several former West Islip lacrosse players as the NCAA Division I and Division II playoffs began.
Syracuse junior goaltender Alyssa Costantino was credited with the win in the Orange’s 21-8 win over Dartmouth. In the game, Costantino had 3 saves and allowed only 2 goals. Syracuse meets Florida on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Maryland Terrapins moved into the quarterfinals with an 11-3 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday. Erin Collins had 1 ground ball, 1 draw control and 1 caused turnover for the Terrapins. Maryland now faces Duke Saturday at 12 p.m.
Also in Division I, Cassie Campasano had 1 goal for Monmouth in the Hawks 12-6 loss to Navy. On the season, Campasano led Monmouth with 36 goals. Casey McGowan and Georgetown fell to Virginia 10-8 on Sunday.
In Division II, Devan Crimi had 3 goals and Sara Sangiorgio found the back of the net twice to help Adelphi squeak past LeMoyne 9-8 on Sunday. The Panthers now move on to play LIU Post in Saturday’s Women’s Division II National Semi-Final game. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
Katie Rotan had 1 goal and 3 assists for LIU Post as the Pioneers defeated Stonehill College 15-9 on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Tournament. LIU Post now meets Adelphi in the National Semi-Final on Saturday.
