10,000 Without Power in Somers, Yorktown
With all the generators going, Yorktown firefighters report a spike in carbon-monoxide related emergencies.
In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias, there were 3,991 Con Edison customers out in Yorktown and more than 7,000 NYSEG customers out in Somers and eastern Yorktown as of 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Yorktown officials announced that NYSEG was distributing ice and bottled water from 12:30-4 p.m. at the Triangle Shopping Center.
Many wires are entangled in downed trees, poles and tree limbs blocking roads throughout the towns.

Fire and police officials reminded residents to treat all downed wires as energized. "There are downed wires everywhere," the Somers Highway Department wrote on Facebook overnight.
