1st Household Recycling Day In 2021 Set
The FDR Park in Yorktown will be the site of the event.
YORKTOWN, NY — Westchester residents will get an opportunity to recycle household waste at the first Household Recycling Day Event of 2021.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at FDR Park, 2957 Crompond Rd., Route 202, in Yorktown.
The county said coronavirus precautions are in place to allow the Department of Environmental Facilities to once again host an event for county residents. People should place items in their trunk or backseat, remain in their vehicles and wear masks while in the drop-off area.

In 2020, the department hosted two events, and residents delivered nearly 275,000 pounds of household waste and about 37,000 pounds of documents for shredding.
In addition to properly labeled household chemicals, tires, scrap metal, electronics, appliances and other special wastes found in a typical household, residents can bring documents for shredding and expired or unwanted medications for disposal to the Yorktown event.
