2021-22 School Budget Voters Guide: Yorktown, Somers, Lakeland
Voters in the Yorktown, Somers and Lakeland school districts will be going to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.
YORKTOWN, NY — Voters around Westchester County will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve their school district's budget, including the Yorktown, Somers and Lakeland districts.
Also on the ballot are elections for school board members and some other propositions.
In the Yorktown school district, voters are being asked to approve a $101.9 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.21 percent and a 1.2 percent increase in the property tax levy.

There is also a proposition for $4 million to pay for air conditioning in large spaces in all buildings.
Two trustee seats are open for full three-year terms. The candidates are incumbents Peter Bisaccia and Jackie Carbone and Richard Giannasca.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at French Hill.
In the Somers school district, voters are being asked to approve a $97.5 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.98 percent and a 1.94 percent increase in the property tax levy.
Two trustee seats are up for election. The candidates are incumbent Heidi Cambareri, Paul Padovani, Nick Mancini, Gilbert Lopez and Rodric Michel Rabbah.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Somers Middle School Gymnasium.
In the Lakeland school district, voters are being asked to approve a $168.3 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.1 percent and a no increase in the property tax levy.
Three trustee seats are up for election. The candidates are Tatyana Krychkina, Marisa Ragonese, Carmella Pervizi, Vincent Xavier, Anna Massaro and incumbents Michael G. Daly and Angela Conti.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School.
