All Business Is Social

Yorktown Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to its annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop, Dec. 11 Holiday Party, and more great events

There’s a familiar expression that tells us all politics is local.

Looking at the schedule of events that it has coming up in December and January, Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is proving all business is social.

It's driving home that message more than ever. The Chamber says its revitalized social focus of bringing people together at events that are both enlightening and entertaining is one of the many reasons more businesses are hopping aboard the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce bandwagon.

A record number of businesses are joining the Chamber every month to take advantage of the privileges of membership. Billing itself as "Yorktown’s premier business-to-business social club," the Chamber emphasizes that it is open to all, regardless of size or structure – for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, solo proprietorships, unincorporated individuals.

The Yorktown Chamber has created a new series of energizing events that it is calling Business Social. It says these casual gatherings are "a friendly place to meet, greet and eat. Feel free to chat with others about business, or anything else on your mind. You’ll also pick up some valuable tips to take home… or take to your place of business."

The next great opportunity to do all of the above is at the Chamber’s annual holiday party, at Stone Rose Steak House in Jefferson Valley Mall. Save the date of Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

On Jan. 23, 2019, at the IBM campus in Yorktown Heights, the Yorktown Chamber’s first Business Social of the new year looks at why "it’s never too soon to think about retirement plans to ensure the financial security of your family’s future."

The Jan. 23 Business Social is "a rare chance to have your questions answered by one of Westchester County’s Top 5 wealth advisors (ranked by Forbes Magazine), Barry P. Mitchell, Jr. (who’s also ranked in the state’s Top 20)."

To attend the holiday party or January 23 Business Social, RSVP here by email to Margaret Primavera, or call (914) 245-4599.

There’s nothing more social than New Year’s Eve. When it comes to the Yorktown Chamber’s ball drop, Yorktowners all over town have told it loud and clear that the show must go on! And the Chamber is happy to say it will.

The Dec. 31 festivities begin at 10 p.m., followed by fireworks at the stroke of midnight to light up the new year. The location is Veterans Road in front of Jack DeVito Veterans Memorial Field. You're guaranteed to have a ball!

In the meantime, this holiday shopping season, the Chamber urges Yorktowners to show a lot of love to local merchants and other sellers of goods and services in the community. And while you’re shopping and celebrating with family and friends, please also remember the needy.
