Altice To Credit Optimum Customers Who Lost Service In Isaias
The tropical storm tore through the Hudson Valley Aug. 4, and many customers lost internet service for days.
After requests from customers and officials across the Hudson Valley, Altice announced that it will credit all Optimum customers who experienced a service outage due to Tropical Storm Isaias.
"Customers do not need to request the credit – we will be applying it to their accounts in the coming weeks," Lisa Anselmo, head of communications, told Patch. "We will be communicating directly with our customers."
The internet outages, at a time when so many are working from home, drove frustrations at the power outages up a couple of notches in the past week.

"We have been advised that the Verizon/Optimum lines are below the power lines and they cannot work on them until NYSEG/Con Edison has completed its work," Bedford town Supervisor Chris Burdick said in an email to residents Tuesday.
According to Westchester County Executive George Latimer, Altice reported 10,300 customers without internet service on Tuesday.
