Board Of Legislators' Coronavirus Tests Come Back Negative
All lawmakers and board staff who had contact with a legislator who was infected have been tested for the new coronavirus.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — With the news of Westchester County Legislator David Tubiolo's positive test result for the new coronavirus, all legislators and board staff who had contact with him during the period of possible infection have been tested.
All those tests have been negative for the virus, according to a spokesman.
As of Friday, all related tests conducted by the Department of Health on personnel — even those who had not been in direct, recent contact with Tubiolo — have also been negative.

"We will continue to work closely with the County Health Department to pursue all additional necessary tracing, testing and isolation procedures, and we know that Leg. Tubiolo is working closely with the Health Department to trace his personal contacts as well," a statement from the board said.
The legislature will continue practicing precautions put in place in March, including holding meetings with no in-person public participation, staggered in-office staffing, wearing masks and social distancing in the workplace.

Video teleconferencing technology will continue to be used to do their work for the county, the spokesman said.
Tubiolo, who represents Mount Vernon and Yonkers, found out he tested positive Wednesday. County Executive George Latimer said he also was tested and the result came back negative, and he is continuing to quarantine.
Latimer postponed Thursday's State of the County address because of Tubiolo's positive test.
The county Department of Health advised anyone who attended the Virtual Italian Heritage Flag Raising Event at the County Office Building Oct. 1 to contact their doctor or the Health Department to discuss testing.
State Senator Pete Harckham, who represents the 40th District, was tested for the new coronavirus Thursday because of possible exposure to Tubiolo.
Harckham said, through a spokesman, that his test results were negative.
“I have been vigilant about wearing a protective mask, social distancing, handwashing and using hand sanitizer, and went immediately to get tested once I learned of possibly being exposed to the virus,” he said. “Though I have tested negative, I will continue to follow the protocols for quarantining as prescribed the Westchester County Department of Health, and ask my fellow residents of New York to continue to exercise precaution in protecting themselves and others from Covid-19.”
