Brooklyn Man Accused Of Drunken Driving, Leading Police On Chase
Police caught up with the man after he crashed his car.
LEWISBORO, NY — A Brooklyn man faces charges after being accused of drunken driving after a police pursuit and a crash.
The New York State Police said Andy Casiano, 32, of Brooklyn, was charged with third-degree fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, misdemeanors, and various vehicle and traffic law violations.
Shortly before 3 p.m Thursday, troopers on Interstate 684 tried to stop a 2020 Volkswagen for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

The driver, later identified as Casiano, failed to comply, fled south on I-684 and got off onto the Saw Mill River Parkway, police said.
Troopers stopped pursuing him, they said, because of the reckless way he was driving.

About 2 miles further south, troopers were alerted to a car crash.
When they arrived at the scene, it was determined that Casiano had been the driver of the crashed car. However, he had fled the crash on foot.
Casiano was subsequently located in the area and was taken into custody without further incident.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Lewisboro Court Dec. 24.
