Coronavirus: Yorktown Asks For Vaccine Distribution Center
The supervisor and clerk are appealing to the state and county to use one of the town's facilities for mass vaccinations.

YORKTOWN, NY — The town of Yorktown has sent a letter to state and county officials requesting the establishment of a coronavirus vaccine distribution center in its community.
The letter, dated Friday, from Supervisor Matthew Slater and Town Clerk Diana Quast, said that the town has several senior living facilities, nursing homes, veteran halls, pharmacies and other town buildings that can be utilized to handle the massive number of residents who are eligible to receive the vaccinations.
"Yorktown is one of the largest towns in Westchester County and its northern location makes it ideal for vast distribution to residents throughout not only Westchester County but also Dutchess and Putnam counties due to their proximity and direct access to our community," the letter said.
