Here are some of the events planned for kids and adults in Westchester parks over the weekend.

FRIDAY – SUNDAY, OCT. 11 - 13

Hudson Horrors: 7 p.m. – 10:45 p.m. Playland Park, Playland Pkwy., Rye: (914) 813-7000. This one-hour, timed-admissions event immerses you in three unique haunt experiences. It uses elements of live theater and haunted houses to create physical, emotional and psychological experiences. Not advised for children under 16. Scared by the Sound: Fri. 8 p.m. - 11 p.m., Sat. 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., Sun. 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Playland Park, Playland Pkwy., Rye: (914) 813-7000. It’s a 12,000-square-foot enclosed haunted house and outdoor cemetery loaded with a terrifying cast of characters who eagerly await your arrival! Might not be suitable for children under 10 years old even when accompanied by an adult. Rain or shine. Tickets: scaredbythesound.ticketleap.com. $22 per person. playlandpark.org. People adversely affected by fog and strobe lighting, as well as those with some physical limitations or compromised health conditions, are advised not to enter.

The Big Sit: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Lenoir Preserve, 19 Dudley St., Yonkers: (914) 968-5851. Meet at 10 a.m. behind the Lenoir Mansion. Tally as many bird species as we can in a day from a single position. Bring a chair, drink and snacks, and join us anytime that day to help us find the birds!

Hike Around the Lake: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Cranberry Lake Preserve, 1609 Old Orchard St., North White Plains: (914) 428-1005. Join us for a leisurely stroll around the lake, taking in all of its the beauty.

Volunteer Work Project: Clear Overgrown Vegetation from Marie’s Neck: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye: (914) 835-4466. Help beautify our shoreline trails. Great for any type of service credit hours. Please bring work gloves. Hand tools will be provided.

SATURDAY – SUNDAY, OCT. 12 - 13

Art Show: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers: (914) 864-7282. Works on view from Hudson River Pottery, weekends through October.

SATURDAY – MONDAY, OCT. 12 - 14

Pumpkin Picking Three-Day Weekend: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers: (914) 864-7282. Muscoot offers pumpkin picking, hayrides and more on Columbus Day weekend as part of its Autumn Celebration. Fees for pumpkins and hayrides.

SUNDAY, OCT. 13

Farmers Market: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers: (914) 864-7282. Nearly 30 local farmers offer a variety of produce and other food goods Sundays through October. Vendors at muscootfarm.org.
