Former Yorktown Resident Clinton Richard Lembke Dies At 90

He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion.

YORKTOWN, NY — Clinton Richard Lembke, a former resident of Yorktown, died peacefully on Jan. 5, 2018, at his home in Boerne, Texas, surrounded by family. He was 90. He was born Feb. 13, 1927, to Olga and Henry Lembke in Pembina, North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd, daughter Jean and beloved wife Evelyn. Clint married the love of his life Evelyn (Whalen) Lembke in 1949 in Jersey City, NJ. They remained married until her death in 1996.

In 1945, he joined the United States Merchant Marines and would also later serve in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Corporal. Clint worked for the New York Telephone Company for 34 years retiring in 1988. He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion.

Clint is survived by his daughters Janice (Joe) Dombi of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, Jane (Ronnie) Colson of Sandersville, GA, sons James (Maryann) Lembke of Casper, WY and John (Eileen) Lembke of Yorktown Heights, NY; three grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren and four brothers.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13 at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown. Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11. A private graveside service to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
