HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The OpenTable app is known for its convenience in making reservations at your favorite restaurants. But did you know that it can also be used to make a reservation at a grocery store?

DeCicco & Sons began using the app May 7 at its Pelham store and has expanded the use to all its other stores as of Monday, the Journal News said.

The store's event planner, Brittany Arocho, said using the app will reduce the time customers might have to spend with other shoppers and enforces social distancing.

Plus shoppers with reservations can go directly into the store when they show up at the assigned time.

According to a news release, OpenTable's grocery app can help control crowds and provides a safer option for shoppers, especially those at high risk, to get their groceries without waiting in a crowded line.
