Hazardous Weather In Forecast For Parts Of Hudson Valley
The entire region could be seeing precipitation for a couple of days.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Thunderstorms are back in the forecast for Thursday as the Hudson Valley winds up the end of the work week before the long 4th of July weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for a few counties.
Hazardous weather can be expected in Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties Thursday, with isolated non-severe thunderstorms in the forecast for the afternoon. There will also be gusty winds and locally heavy rain. Thunderstorms will move from north to south at 15 to 25 mph.
For the rest of the Hudson Valley, except for southern Westchester, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. The high will be around 90 degrees.

Here is the forecast through the weekend for northern Westchester from the National Weather Service:
- Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Northwest wind around 6 mph.
- Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. North wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. East wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Independence Day: A 20 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
- Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.
- Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.
