Hazardous Weather Possible In Much Of Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service said a cold front is setting off showers and thunderstorms as it advances.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A hazardous weather outlook was issued for much of the Hudson Valley Thursday. The National Weather Service said it is in effect for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely ahead of an approaching cold front Thursday afternoon into early evening.
A few of these storms could produce heavy rain capable of minor nuisance flooding and gusty winds approaching severe limits, the weather service said.

Here is the forecast for northern Westchester County through the weekend from the National Weather Service:
- Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 4pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
- Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
- Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Light and variable wind.
- Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
- Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
- Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 73.
- Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.
