Heavy Rains, Wind Gusts In Hudson Valley Forecast
Meteorologists said Hudson Valley residents could see flooding problems and sporadic power outages in the next couple of days.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It is April after all, and April showers bring May flowers, as the saying goes. But with meteorologists categorizing the next couple of days as "buckets of rain" and "fire hose effect," the Hudson Valley can likely expect to see heavy rains and localized flooding.
While there aren't yet any advisories or warnings, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that they will be issued, especially considering the forecast of up to 2 inches or more of rain and wind gusts.
Hudson Valley Weather forecast "buckets of rain" on their Facebook page, with projected rainfall Wednesday to Friday between 1 and 3 inches.

"The scattered showers last with us on Friday, as the system is slow to exit the region … so expect clouds and scattered showers straight through Friday," HVW said.
AccuWeather.com, which said to expect a "fire hose effect," said the storm heading our way was, just yesterday, affecting the central and southern states.

"While violent thunderstorms are not anticipated, we expect the storm to swing through the Northeast with heavy enough rain to cause flooding problems and strong enough winds to be of concern for sporadic power outages and fallen trees," said AccuWeather Senior Storm Warning Meteorologist Brian Wimer.
