High Wind Predictions Increased For Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service left high wind warnings in place but increased the speed of predicted wind gusts for much of the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — High wind gusts, heavy rains and floods are all possibilities throughout the Hudson Valley for Monday. The National Weather Service has upped the predicted wind gusts for some parts of the region.
For southern Westchester County, a high wind warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday. The warning calls for south winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph, up from 65 mph in Sunday's forecast.
There is also a coastal flood statement for Westchester in effect through Monday afternoon. Brief minor flooding is possible in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.

For Rockland and northern Westchester counties, the high wind warning in also still in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.
It said to expected south winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph, up from 60 mph in Sunday's forecast.

Orange and Putnam counties, which are under a high wind warning until 6 p.m. Monday, can expect south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, meteorologists said.
For Columbia and Dutchess, the high wind warning is still in effect until 6 p.m., but south winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are in the forecast, up from 50 mph. Ulster County is under a separate warning for gusts up to 50 mph.
For all areas, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for northern Westchester for the work week:
- Monday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 66. Windy, with a south wind around 29 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 42. West wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
- Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. West wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
- Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
- Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 49.
- Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
- Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
- Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
