Joseph L. DaRonco Sr. Dies At 77

DaRonco was a volunteer for the Yorktown Heights Fire Department.

YORKTOWN, NY — Joseph L. DaRonco Sr. died on Friday, June 23, three weeks shy of his 78th birthday. Joe was born in 1939 in Mt. Vernon to Lee and Kathryn DaRonco. He was a 1956 graduate of Yorktown High School. He had many jobs before settling in at General Foods in White Plains where he worked for 33 years. It was here that he met his wife.

Joe battled an illness for 25 long years with his devoted wife by his side daily. Prior to this, Joe had a love for cars, his landscaping, and watching his son play baseball. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and strong will to live.

Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dianne; son Joseph II, daughter-in-law Lina, grandchildren Joseph III and Taylor all of Yorktown; his brother Thomas of East Dennis, MA; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The DaRonco family would like to thank Skyview Nursing Home in Croton for their dedicated care and service for the past several years.

Calling hours are Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights. The Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, 10 a.m., at New St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Yorktown Heights Fire Department (which he was previously a volunteer) or the Yorktown Ambulance Corps.
