Mahopac Man Charged With Felony DWI: PD

Police found that the man had a previous conviction for DWI within the past 10 years.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mahopac man was accused of felony driving while intoxicated in Yorktown. Police said Matthew W. Williams, 30, of Mahopac, was charged with driving while intoxicated previous conviction prior 10 years and operate a motor vehicle blood alcohol content 0.08 percent previous conviction prior 10 years, felonies, and crossing road hazard markings, a traffic infraction.

Yorktown police said, shortly before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, an officer saw Williams' car going east in the westbound lane of East Main Street.

After stopping the car, the officer said he determined that Williams was driving while drunk.

He was arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Headquarter for processing.

While there, it was found that Williams has a previous conviction for driving while intoxicated within the past 10 years, making the charges felonies.

He was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible party.

Williams is due to appear in Yorktown Just Court March 17.
