Man Stole Wallet, Used Credit Card: Police

Police said the man found the wallet which had been left in a shopping cart.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of stealing a wallet out of a shopping cart and using one of the credit cards.

The Yorktown Police Department said Maurizio Minichino, 64, of Yorktown, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police said the department received a report of a stolen wallet around 6:30 p.m. March 24.

The victim said a purchase had been made at another location using a credit card that had been in the wallet when it was taken.

An investigation found Minichino found the wallet in a shopping cart at Lowes and used a credit card at another store.

He came to police headquarters Monday and was placed under arrest.

After processing, Minichino was released on his own recognizance.

He is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court June 3.
