Montessori kids learn water safety the fun way
Goldfish Swim School visits Montessori school for a quick dip into swimming etiquette
Bubbles the Goldfish Makes a Guest Appearance
Instructors from Goldfish Swim School in Yorktown Heights, along with mascot Bubbles the Goldfish, paid a fast and fun visit recently to Our Montessori School's (OMS) St. Andrew's Lutheran Church location (2405 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights 10598) for an informative, interactive session on water safety with OMS nursery and kindergarten students.
The youngsters learned a lot from Goldfish Yorktown assistant general manager Debra Carucci and helper Maria Ajito, who were impressed by how much the three-to-five-year-olds already knew about using common sense to stay safe when in or near water for swimming.
Among topics covered were adult supervision, life jackets, not running around a pool, not diving in to shallow water, and not pushing others. Each student received a goody bag included a “Water Safety with Bubbles” activity book.
