NJ Man Accused Of Stealing Van

Police said they located the stolen vehicle while it was traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway.

YORKTOWN, NY — A New Jersey man was accused of stealing a van after being stopped while driving on the Taconic State Parkway.

The Yorktown Police Department said Marek Felkner, 43, of Rutherford, New Jersey, was charged Monday with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

Police said, around 1 p.m. Monday, an officer on patrol was told about a stolen vehicle traveling north on the parkway.

A vehicle matching the description was located and stopped on the parkway in the vicinity of Route 202.

Felkner was identified as the driver, police said.

The investigation found Felkner was in possession of a 2014 GMC van that had been reported to the New York City Police Department as stolen.

He was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

Felkner was released on an appearance ticket to the Suffolk County Police Department on an unrelated warrant.

He is next scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court April 27.
