Obituary: Ashley Manning Of Somers Dies At 29
Manning was found dead in a rental truck in California.
SOMERS, NY — A Mass for a Somers native who was recently found dead in California in a U-Haul was celebrated Wednesday. Ashley Manning, 29, had been living in Anaheim, California, when her body was found Jan. 8 in the cargo hold of an abandoned rental truck.
Manning had been reported missing on Nov. 13 after she flew from Dallas to Los Angeles, the Journal News said.
According to her obituary, Manning was born in Saratoga Springs and attended Somers public schools after her family had moved to Katonah.

She attended Roanoke College and University of California-Irvine.
Manning was a soccer player, enabling her to travel domestically and abroad.

She is survived by her parents Denise and Steve Manning, a sister, two brothers and a nephew, as well as a grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Somers. Interment was private.
