Peekskill Man Arrested After Not Showing For Court: Police

The man had been accused of driving without a license, Yorktown police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was accused of not showing up in court in response to a charge of driving without a license.

The Yorktown Police Department said Diego A. Ortega, 21, of Peekskill, didn't show up in court Aug. 18 to answer a prior charge of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.

The judge issued an arrest warrant for Ortega.

On Monday, Yorktown police officials went to the Peekskill Police Department and arrested him.

Ortega was taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was additionally charged with fail to respond to an appearance ticket, a violation.

After he was arraigned, Ortega was released on his own recognizance to return to Yorktown Justice Court May 11.
