Police Accuse Caregiver Of Stealing From Client
Authorities said the woman used forged checks belonging to the person she was paid to care for.
AMENIA, NY — A caregiver was accused of stealing from someone she was employed to care for.
On Monday, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Dover Plains in conjunction with the Special Investigation Unit Financial Crimes Unit charged Shawna M. Lowe, 37, of Dover, with 26 counts of possession of a forged instrument and one count of third-degree grand larceny, all felonies.
Police said an investigation began in December and determined Lowe stole more than $3,000 using forged checks belonging to her client.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Amenia Court June 29.
