Possibly Heavy Rain, Winds With Approaching Storm
A likely precipitation-free weekend will be followed by a weather system that could cause power outages.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Make plans to enjoy the remainder of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, because rainy and windy conditions will start the next workweek.
The National Weather Service said sunny to partly cloudy conditions, depending on your location, are in store for Friday through Sunday with temperatures in the low- to mid-50s.
Then a low-pressure system will move into the northeast Monday into Monday night, the weather service said.

It will create "an anomalously strong upper low that will cover much of the country east of the Great Plains Monday into Tuesday," with all rain in the forecast, meteorologists said.
The storm will bring winds in the 45-to-55 mph range, Accuweather said, which are strong enough to cause tree limbs to break and electricity to go out.

"A general 1-2 inches of rain is forecast to fall, with locally higher amounts to 3 inches as the storm moves northeastward early next week," said Accuweather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.
The precipitation will move out for Wednesday and Thursday, according to the long-term forecast.
Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service through the weekend into Monday for northern Westchester County:
- Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.
- Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Light northwest wind.
- Saturday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 52. Light northwest wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
- Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31. West wind 3 to 7 mph.
- Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 52. South wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
- Monday: Rain. High near 58. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
- Monday night: Rain, mainly before midnight. Low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
- Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53.
