Queens Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Taconic
Police said the initial investigation found the man was going extremely fast when he sideswiped a car that was changing lanes.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Queens man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Yorktown.
The New York State Police said the accident happened around 2:10 p.m. in the southbound lane around mile marker 15.5.
When troopers got there, personnel with Yorktown Emergency Services were already performing lifesaving measures on Julio T. Diaz, 21, of Queens.

He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the initial investigation found Diaz had been driving a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed southbound on the parkway when he sideswiped a 2007 BMW M5 that was changing lanes.

The cause of death appears to be an accident, according to authorities.
The Yorktown Fire Department and the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit were at the scene rendering aid and investigating the crash.
