School Bus Crashes Into Utility Pole In Somers

SOMERS, NY — A school bus crashed into a utility pole Friday in Lincolndale in the town of Somers.

The Somers Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook that the accident happened around 3:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Lakeshore Drive North and Orange Drive.

Fire officials said there were multiple injuries.

A total of nine people, mostly children, were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the fire department.

Mutual aid ambulances from surrounding emergency agencies were called to the scene to help transport patients, officials said.

The scene was cleared around 6:30 p.m.

Police are investigating the accident. It is unknown for whom the Royal Coach Lines Inc. bus was working.
