Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Hudson Valley

There could be damaging wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning and heavy rainfall.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Severe weather is possible throughout the Hudson Valley Wednesday afternoon into the evening.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.

The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Meteorologists are calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Heat indices are expected to reach into low triple digits as well.
