Severe Thunderstorms, Possible Tornado In Hudson Valley Forecast
The National Weather Service also said hail up to 1-inch diameter is possible in parts of the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Parts of the Hudson Valley could see severe weather Wednesday, including a possible tornado, according to the National Weather Service. Hazardous weather outlooks have been issued for the lower and mid-Hudson Valley.
For Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties, the weather service said the Storm Prediction Center placed the area in a slight to enhanced risk for severe weather Wednesday afternoon and evening.
This is the potential for isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms with the main threat being damaging winds.

Small to large hail is possible, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Putnam County is under a marginal risk for severe weather Wednesday afternoon into the evening. Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible, as is small hail.

For Dutchess and Ulster counties, the weather service said there is a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon ahead of a cold front and an upper level disturbance.
A few of the thunderstorms may become severe producing damaging winds of 58 mph or greater or large hail 1 inch in diameter or larger.
Here is the forecast through the rest of the work week for northern Westchester:
- Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3pm and 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. High near 79. West wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 61. West wind 3 to 7 mph.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. West wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
- Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
