HUDSON VALLEY, NY — In advance of any impact that now-Tropical Storm Isaias might bring to the region, the Hudson Valley will see showers and thunderstorms — and even a possible tornado — Sunday. To that end, the National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlooks.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the outlook said there is a chance of severe thunderstorms Sunday into early evening, with the highest chances near and to the north and west of New York City.

Damaging winds and heavy rain are the main threats. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Meteorologists are still keeping an eye on Isaias as it moves up the east coast. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall associated with the tropical storm are possible Monday night into Wednesday morning, with the heaviest rainfall likely Tuesday night.

There is still uncertainty with the track, timing and area of heavy rainfall, meteorologists said.
