Somers, Lakeland and Yorktown High School Soccer Playoffs Begin

No. 20 seed Lakeland played No. 13 Lourdes in the play-in round of the Section 1 Class A girls soccer playoffs on Friday. The winner goes on to play at No. 4 Tappan Zee on Saturday in the first round.

No. 12 seed Yorktown will play against No. 5 Mahopac on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in the first round of Class AA. No. 2 Somers is also scheduled to play on Saturday in the first round of Class A.

Section 1 released its playoff seeds and pairings Thursday. The top seeds are North Rockland in Class AA, Byram Hills in Class A, Briarcliff in Class B and Solomon Schechter in Class C.
