Somers Man, 68, Charged with DWI After Hit-and-Run Accident

A 68-year-old Somers man is due in court in January to answer a drunken driving charge following a hit and run personal injury accident, state police troopers said. 

The man was arrested on Dec. 17 at about 8:35 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Police said he was involved in a hit and run personal injury accident which occurred on Bluegrass Circle in the town of Somers.

Police determined the man had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent. He was scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Jan. 6, 2014.
