Somers Native Named to Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll

From Muhlenberg College: Somers native Bucky Aronoff, who is a senior at Muhlenberg College and a member of the men’s soccer team, has been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student must be a sophomore or higher in class standing; a starter or key reserve on his team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

Aronoff, a double major in economics and business administration, helped the Mules earn a postseason berth in 2013.

He played in 15 games for the Mules, starting 13 of them at back. He was a key part of a defense that posted eight shutouts and ranked second in the CC with just 10 goals allowed in league games. Only six teams scored more than one goal on the Mules this season.

Muhlenberg finished the year with a 10-8-1 record for its 28th consecutive non-losing season. The Mules received a bid to the ECAC South Tournament as the seventh seed and beat third-seeded Marywood, 2-0, before falling to top-seeded Swarthmore in the semifinals.
