How did you come up with the name?

Originally we were thinking Somers Fields; then dropped the s to keep it one name and included An American Grill.

Why start a business in this town?

Both owners live here in Somers. The original restaurant was foreclosed and were both looking to get back into the restaurant business. They each had over 20 years in the business prior to opening in May of 1996.

What business are you in?

Restaurant and bar (casual/ family).

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

In 2008, we had to close for a couple of months due to a fire, then the economy went down and more businesses opened in this town since then.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

Making so many repeat customers who feel comfortable here and love the food; we know most everyones name. And are enjoying meeting new people moving in recently.

How does your business give back to the community?

We have financially supported many groups in Heritage Hills, the town, school sports and many other charities.
