Speeding Leads To Accusation Of Driving With No License

Police said the man was traveling almost twice as fast as the speed limit.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was arrested after being accused of driving without a license.

Yorktown police Brandon Basso, 24, of Yorktown, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.

Police said, around 1:30 p.m. Monday, an officer saw a car traveling 54 mph on East Main Street, which is posted as a 30 mph zone.

After the car was stopped by police, a check of Basso's driver's license found he was driving with a suspended license.

He was arrested, processed and released on his own recognizance.
