Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Parts Of Mid-Hudson Valley

Hazardous weather outlooks are in effect for much of the rest of the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Scattered thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening, leading the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm warning and hazardous weather outlooks for parts of the Hudson Valley.

At 1:16 p.m. Tuesday, the weather service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Ulster and southern Dutchess counties.

The warning is in effect until 2:15 p.m.

Damage to roofs, siding and trees can be expected due to 60 mph wind gusts.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

A flash flood watch is also in effect until 10 p.m. for Dutchess and Ulster counties, the weather service said.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Tuesday

The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms, mainly Tuesday afternoon and evening.

There is the potential for heavy rainfall which may produce localized flash flooding. Gusty winds and lightning strikes are also threats.
